Welcome...
I am delighted to welcome you to the recruitment microsite for the post of Headteacher at Heritage Park Community School. We are very proud of our school and the Governors and staff who have been involved in its development feel privileged to have been able to contribute to this important initiative in Sheffield. This post has arisen as our current headteacher is retiring this year after 5 successful years with us. I hope the information on the following pages provides you with a useful insight into our community and our vision for the future.
Opened in 2005 and situated within extensive grounds, Heritage Park is a purpose-built, specialist status SEN school, providing a broad and creative curriculum for pupils aged 7 to 16 with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. We are a “good school with outstanding features” (Ofsted, 2007). Our strong focus on engagement and raising achievement, underpinned by extensive family support and wrap around care, ensures that each and every one of our pupils receives the care and support they need to identify and develop their talents.
Parents, staff and governors all share high ambitions for our school and for our pupils. They need a learning environment that nurtures, stimulates and progresses them, and they need a Headteacher who has vision, creativity and dynamic leadership skills that will lead and inspire staff to provide and deliver the curriculum in an individualised way.
We are committed to offering an inclusive and happy environment which meets the specific needs of every pupil. In partnership with the local authority and the local community, we are working closely together to move forward for the benefit of all our pupils. We have high expectations for our future and we need an exceptional leader to take us forward. You’ll be supported by an enthusiastic team dedicated to developing a fantastic place to work and learn.
Please read on to find out more about our school – I hope you will share our vision for Heritage Park and be excited about joining us on the next stage of our development. If you are an inspirational and experienced leader with relevant SEN experience, looking for your next or first headship, with a commitment and passion for improving outcomes for children who have not had the best start in life, then we would like to hear from you.
